Nike Football Pro Genius is a tool to help football obsessed teens to understand the game and themselves better.
Performance in pre-match reaction tests reliably predicts performance in the game that follows.
We created a tool that slowly adds cognitive load to a reaction test, by incorporating increasingly complex decisions and ambiguous form identification to give a full spread analysis.
Learning to recognise patterns of play helps players to spend more time controlling the ball and less time analysing the game - making them faster and better on pitch.
I led the user experience track for this project, starting with the pitch, through to going live.
I managed a senior UX to help define the experience, using Sketch, Flinto and Axure.
Critical to crafting the experience was determining which variables should be exposed so that the UX team could tweak them to tune the gameplay.
More complex interactive states were documented as state machines.
